Admission
211
Housing happens after a free call to 211 for Coordinated Entry.

ALL admission to Sixth Street Shelter comes from coordinated entry referrals.
As long as your family has custody of at least one child under the age of 18 years old who will be residing with you, all families are welcome. Our Shelter is the largest family shelter in the Lehigh Valley region, accepting any configuration of families, including those with adult children, single fathers, and the LGBTQ+ community.

The Sixth Street Shelter has 25 furnished apartments for our short-term program that lasts 30, 60, or 90 days and two off-site locations for our 18–24 month long-term program. To meet the long-term program requirements, the parent must be enrolled in school and working.
For our short-term families to be successful, they must:
• Save 50% of all their income
• Keep their apartment clean and complete chores
• Participate in all educational and life skills activities provided within the Sixth Street Shelter community
